Pelham Three-Piece Bit - Hybrid Control and High Stopping Power
Product Features
It features a hybrid design that combines the characteristics of a traditional bridle and a curb bit in a single mouthpiece. The three-piece mouthpiece structure provides a better fit to the horse's mouth and minimizes the "nutcracker" effect created by single-piece bits. The middle section of the bit is manufactured high and heavy, providing a very firm and authoritative level of impact. Large rings provide normal tongue pressure (bridle effect), while the lower shank rings create palate pressure with the help of leverage. It is supported by a curb chain that works on the horse's trachea and lower jaw. It can be used with double reins or controlled with single reins using Pelham roundings.
Product Description
The Pelham Three-Piece Bit is professional equipment developed for horses that need extra steering and powerful stopping assistance during riding. This bit offers both the flexibility of a curb bit and the restrictive power of a lever bit simultaneously. The high and heavy structure of the middle section provides precise results, especially with horses that have very stiff heads and resist rein commands. While it allows the rider to separate the bit and palate effect when using double reins, it is also possible to stabilize these two effects with a single rein using the Pelham crossarm.
Technical Superiority and Advantages
Combined Effect: Direct steering is achieved with the help of the bit rings, while control over the neck and jaw is provided by the lower handles. Three-Piece Comfort: The mouthpiece sits more anatomically on the horse's tongue, distributing pressure and creating a precise communication channel. High Authority: The heavy and high middle section makes it difficult for the horse to remain fixed in the mouth, ensuring the rider feels the commands at all times. Flexible Use: More practical use with a single rein can be achieved by attaching the Pelham crossarm. Precise Communication: In trained hands, it is an excellent tool for correcting the horse's head and neck position and ensuring it stays within the frame.
Areas of Use
Handling horses with very stiff heads and those that do not respond to standard bridles. Professional riding that requires both direct steering and leverage simultaneously. Situations requiring higher stopping power in show jumping or off-road riding. Training exercises to prevent the horse from riding on the bit or pulling the reins.
