Product Description
The Leather Mexican Nose Band is a professional piece designed to stabilize the horse's interaction with the bit, especially in high-performance equestrian disciplines. Also known as "Figure-Eight," the primary purpose of this model is to prevent or minimize the horse's tendency to open its mouth to escape the pressure applied by the bit.
Functional Control Mechanism: This nose band prevents the horse from rubbing its jaws together or attempting to escape the bit by crossing them. It also prevents the horse from taking control by throwing its tongue over the bit and prevents the bit from slipping inside the mouth. The biggest advantage of its design is that it keeps the mouth closed while leaving the horse's nostrils open; this allows the horse to breathe much more comfortably during intense exertion.
Technical Advantages and Pros
Prevents Bit Escape: Prevents the horse from opening its mouth and releasing the reins, providing the rider with precise control.
Improved Breathing Capacity: Unlike standard nosebands, its non-pressuring design prevents the horse from restricting oxygen intake during high exertion.
Jaw Stabilization: Stabilizes the horse's jaw, deterring resistance habits such as teeth grinding or jaw shifting.
Soft Intersection Point: The padding located at the sensitive point on the nasal bone absorbs pressure, preventing irritation and pain.
Adjustable Structure: Buckles on the upper and lower straps allow the equipment to fit the horse's facial anatomy with millimeter precision.
Areas of Use
Show jumping and cross-country (eventing) competitions requiring high conditioning
Training horses that tend to open their mouths or stick their tongues onto the bit
Riding exciting and powerful horses where control is challenging
Fast-paced training where breathing is critical
